Food Lion stores are clean, well stocked, and sale items are usually a good buy. I don't shop at Food Lion anymore however. Despite their friendly staff, helpful butchers, short checkout lines, convenient locations, I can't stand their inaccurate scanners and failure to honor their MVP specials. I have had to get refunds on 4 occasions this year, the largest was $29 and I didn't catch all the errors then. The refunding process takes time and erases all the positives of shopping Food Lion.
MVP specials should be entered into the computer/cash register system. Errors should be corrected now.
Many elderly shop Food Lion. Are these old-timers catching these errors? I usually know within $1-2 what I have spent, and rarely get ripped off, but what about those less alert than me?
I can't say whether this is incompetence or intentional, but I now shop elsewhere. Check your receipts.
